Reflections in Grant Park

6 Dec

Last fall Li and I went to Chicago and spent several wonderful days with friends.  One morning before we met anyone else we went to Grant Park and marveled at Cloud Gate (more colloquially known as “The Bean” to Chicagoans).  The blue sky and crisp day made the reflections that bounce off the polished surface even more special than I remembered.

Li had just gotten his new camera and at every corner there seemed more and more opportunities for photos, but none quite as special as this Chicago landmark.

This week the weekly photo challenge was on reflections.  There is a double meaning to me there.  Obviously there is the physical reflection of us, of the beautiful day, of Chicago’s skyline, but also there is the sense of looking back on the different phases of my life.  I am reflecting on what has happened and what will happen and how the different sides of me and my life come together to make me who I am.

Everyone needs to reflect from time to time. Who are you?

Definitely one of the best spots for taking reflection shots anywhere! Great job

Thanks – that’s what I like about participating in the weekly challenges, they make me go back through and look at our photos in a different way. I agree, The Bean on a clear day makes for some unparalleled reflections.

Welcome back! Glad you stopped by. I agree, looking at the photos does make me a bit homesick because they are so clear.

These photos are some of my favorites. I think the beauty of the shots make reflection even easier.
