When I saw the topic this week on the weekly photo challenge – Lost in the details, I thought this would be a perfect way to share some of my favorite shots from our recent trip to Cambodia. The magnificence and overarching awe that I had when looking at the many temples was increased when we leaned down or zoomed in on certain details and remember that these temples were built nearly 1000 years ago.
The photos in this post were all taken on our first full day in Cambodia by Li and look at the intricate carving that is all over the walls of the temples – once you get close enough to see it!

One of the first images that we saw in Angkor Wat – and one that repeated over and over again – the Ankara dancers
I am a fan of details – they are what makes me successful at work and when I was taking many, many actuarial exams. These small details sometimes get lost in the big picture, but on this trip, they called us back over and over again – so much so that we went back again to Angkor Wat twice during our trip.
Which details do you enjoy the most? Where can you get lost in the details?
